Just so you don’t think I’ve fallen off the face of the earth, I just got over the flu (or something similar).
Here’s the little nugget of wisdom I picked up during this sickness.
If there is only one person in the house who is concerned about healthy eating, when that one person gets sick, the household diet goes to pot.
For instance, my wife actually went out and bought some pasteurized, homogenized, thoroughly killed milk at the store. I’ve noticed that this commercial “milk” is as much like real milk as a Chicken McNugget is like real chicken – which is to say not at all. I say if you can’t have the real thing, why have anything at all.
So sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Hope you’re on the mend.
That’s funny about the milk. My husband would be very likely to do just such a thing.
I know what you mean. I’d climbed on the cooking bandwagon and wound up scratch making stuff for suppers, balanced meals, etc. We were feeling great and on top of our game as a family.
Then I left the kitchen for a while after a family loss and we are back to where we started.
I’m retaking the kitchen now.
PS. Who’s that funny lookin dude on your banner….
I hope folks are well enough at your house to have a wonderful Easter.
So when did you “fall off the wagon” and taste the forbidden fruit of Chicken McNuggets?
A long time ago.
I am proud to say I bought cheese, pre-sliced, each in it’s own plastic wrapper last week. So THERE!
Brian,
Glad you kicked the flu’s ass. Tis a good feeling when you win the battle over the bod. I wrote a little article about the flu and Vitamin D last year. Turns out they’re very related, as is depression. Hope you’ll be able to run naked in your yard soon. It’s good for you, really!!
Blessings
